'bury a friend' by Billie Eilish

'bury a friend' by Billie Eilish

A day after announcing the title of her new debut album, When We All Go To Sleep, Where Do We Go?, Eilish released her new song to support the release. Eilish stated that the creation of 'bury a friend' gave her the vision of what the album would be, what the visuals would be, and the perception of the album that she wanted to illustrate. 'bury a friend' is written "from the perspective of the monster under my bed" according to Eilish. Produced by her brother and musical partner, FINNEAS, the song has a minimal rhythm but keeps you hooked.

'Ready to Let Go' by Cage the Elephant

After announcing the upcoming release of their fifth studio album, Social Cues, Cage the Elephant released the official music video for their first single (watch the video here). The song was written by lead singer, Matt Schultz. The song tells the story about Schultz and his wife's trip to Pompeii, where they realised that their relationship was leading to a divorce. In an article with Rolling Stone, Schultz stated, "It’s hard when you love each other, but it just won’t work. I’m glad to be past it."

'Getting Closer' by Calva Louise

Rhinoceros is the debut album released today by Calva Louise. The album includes ten energetic punk rock tunes that will surely keep the crowd moving in their upcoming shows. Track 6, 'Getting Closer', begins with melodic vocals by lead singer Jess Allanic, followed by a throat-ripping scream that creates a new dimension to the track. The song talks from a perspective of someone trying to understand themselves.
