ONE NOT TO MISS: boy pablo

If you’ve heard of boy pablo, chances are that you’ve probably stumbled across the silly music video for ‘Everytime’ on Youtube. A video that somehow exploded within a few months, by having an eccentric element of attracting the millennial generation - something that I obviously fell for, no surprise there.

19-year-old Pablo from Norway only just started the “boy pablo” project in 2016, and has since then already released a 6-track EP and 3 singles. Although he writes and produces his own songs, he brings his high school mates on the stage when performing live. Believe it or not, they’ve played in front of the King and Queen of Norway, as a support act for Beach Fossils and several big festivals around Norway.

There are no exquisite details or solos to be found on the EP, just straight up fuzz pop; exactly how you would like it if you are a dream-pop fan. While they’re getting compared to the likes of Mac Demarco and Mild High Club, their typical boyish songs about young love is going to end up on your “summer 2k18” playlist - probably requested by your hipster mate in a baby pink sweatshirt, so you can get lost in a field on a sunny, summer day together.

Pablo and his four best mates are going on their first ever European tour soon, and hopefully, we’ll get more music from them before that. boy pablo are hitting up Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen here in London on the 27th of March. Grab your ticket via DICE - I’ve got mine already, of course.
