British Summer Time 2017 / Festival Preview

That big beautiful Great Oak Stage will be opening up again in Hyde Park 2017, and here is the exciting list of what’s to come and who you need to demand tickets to see IMMEDIATELY!

After 10 years of ‘retirement’, Phil Collins finally announced his Not Dead Yet Tour starting off at the Royal Albert Hall in London for four nights followed by Cologne and then Paris. But in the midst of the sold out tour here in London, leaving many fans desperate for more, Phil will be headlining his biggest solo show ever on the first day of British Summer Time 2017. The line-ip is yet to be announced but it takes time to build any supporting act line-up after this 7 time Grammy winning, 5 Brit, 1 MTV Video Music, 1 time Academy and 2 time Golden Globe aware winning artist is finally making his come back. Not forgetting the list of songs we can never get out of our heads such as ‘Against All Odds’, ‘Easy Lover’, ‘Another Day In Paradise’, and ‘You’ll Be In My Heart’ (that one better make an appearance) this should live up to every expectation.

After Green Day’s release of their new album Revolution Radio on October 7th 2016, they announced their world tour starting December 11th 2016 in LA al the way to February 8th 2017 in London. Of course it was only right that this multiple award winning (way too many to list… 95 in total) act are one of the headliners on the Great Oak Stage in 2017. Known for being one of the most famous American Punk Rock Bands (I mean giants, AND one of the most controversial), everyone is looking forward to hearing the all time famous songs such as ‘American Idiot’, ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’, ‘Basket Case’, and ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends’.

Since 2003, Kings of Leon have been kicking up a storm and since it is only appropriate after releasing their new album Walls on September 22nd 2016 (after 3 years of waiting) that they would be the third headlining act for British Summer Time. This 2 time Grammy award and Brit award (along with several other awards) winning band are famous for songs such as ‘Sex on Fire’, ‘Wait For Me’, ‘Beautiful War’, and ‘Use Somebody’. It will surely be a night of intensity and diversity living up to expectations, perfectly bringing BST to a satisfying end until 2018. Of course, this night couldn’t close without having fellow US rock legends Pixies joining. The release and success of their latest album Head Carrier on September 30th 2016 brings them to London to celebrate with one of the biggest fastest selling crowds this summer coming in 2017. Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, a band recently formed in 2013 will be performing alongside these fantastic acts. Highly rated by the likes of The New York Times and Billboard who dubbed the un-signed singer-songwriter a “must hear”. After opening for The Fray this artist has climbed the line and shared the stage with some pretty huge names.

British Summer Time 2017 will certainly live up to its standards. The Great Oak Stage and various smaller stages will give one of the best festival atmosphere in the UK and I’d highly recommend you don’t miss it! Don’t forget all the delicious food served at various stands (everywhere you walk there’s something pulling you towards its direction) along with the beer, cider and wine easily on flow (best not to forget cash though). Phil Collins, Green Day and Kings of Leon certainly give 2017 the head start we needed to hear.

All tickets are now on sale so don’t miss your chance to see these acts and keep watching the British Summer Time website and social media outlets for support act announcements.
